PROJECT NOW COMPLETED...
29th April 2010 - the project is now effectively complete, with just a few finishing touches such as signage and extra plants to be done.

Next week (w/c 12th April): Work will be continuing on the pedestrian area by the ramp and the chrome bollards will be finished going across the front. The week after that, the whole front car park will have a fresh layer of tarmac done and new car park bays will be marked. Later (probably in May), the footpaths will be finished with a "resin-bonded gravel" - to match in with the ramp - unfortunately this needs slightly warmer weather before it can be done!
9th April 2010 - the new ramp is now in place and looks very good. It is very modern, but this is the way that English Heritage like it - if we tried to match the original building, then the argument is that they didn't have access ramps in the 1860's!

19th March 2010 - the new footpaths and both corner gravel sections are now complete, and the area has once again been left looking neat and tidy by our contractors in preparation for our weekend wedding business.

11th March 2010 - the top layer is now on the new footpath and gravel is into the left corner section. Four new plants are either side of the entrance to brighten things up a bit.

5th March 2010

The contractors have started on the new footpath / kerb areas. Everything has now been tidied away behind bamboo-covered fencing in readiness for our wedding this weekend.
PROJECT WORKS:
We are very pleased to announce that from Monday 1st March, we are carrying out a refurbishment project in our front car park area that will enhance this Victorian mansion. The work will take place over a period of around 6-7 weeks through until mid-April.
Enhancements include new pedestrian walkways from the main car parks, giving our clients a much safer route to and from their vehicles. A new ramp at the mansion entrance (that has been approved by English Heritage) will vastly improve access for disabled guests - including power-assisted entrance doors.
As you come up the driveway, the view to the front doors will be unrestricted by vehicles - with a pretty raised flower bed replacing the central car park bays - great for wedding photos!
During the Works
During all discussions with the contractors, we have ensured that they are fully aware of the needs of our clients, whether they be conferences or weddings. The schedule of works has been designed to minimise the potential impact throughout the project. Whilst work is taking place, fencing covered with Bamboo will be used to screen-off the works and reduce the visual impact. Pedestrian walkways in and out of the building will be clearly marked, with assistance from team members as necessary to help clients find their way.
On the dates when the conference centre has a wedding taking place, no work will take place* - with any areas of disruption screened-off and kept tidy. We will also be bringing in some additional small bushes / plants to keep the front entrance attractive for photographs for the arrival of weddings.
