Flag-Planting Ceremony
To start the wedding day the groom participates in the "flag-planting" ceremony at dawn where men in the wedding party offer prayers and plant a flag on the highest point near the couple's home.
Bride Pickup Tradition
Before leaving the bride's house she looks into a mirror to see her journey ahead in a long and happy marriage. Then, she's taken from her family home in a car or horse and music from the Davul Zurna is played. The bride will also be waving the Turkish flag gifted by her groom.
