In Pakistani weddings the bride traditionally wears a vibrant shalwar kameez, saris, or lehengas. Meanwhile, grooms often opt for traditional attire or Western suits.

The Nikkah ceremony involves the couple exchanging vows and making lifelong promises. Prior to this a tradition called Mehr occurs, where the groom presents his bride with gifts as a symbol of commitment and respect.

During the Nikah ceremony, the Munh Dikhai tradition may be observed. In this ritual, the couple stands before a mirror with their heads covered by a shawl. They then feed each other some honey, representing the sweetness of their marriage ahead.

At the end of the traditional ceremonies the couple finalises their marriage contract in the presence of two male witnesses. They then affirm their union by each repeating "qubool hai" (I accept). 

The Walima, also called Valima, is the joyous reception following the wedding. Typically hosted by the groom's family, this event is filled with delectable cuisine, music, entertainment, and dancing, creating a festive and memorable atmosphere.

An essential element of Pakistani weddings is the food which is known for its vibrant colors, rich flavors, and aromatic spices. Traditional dishes might include lamb korma or tikka kebab, often prepared as halal to meet dietary preferences.

The bride is seated among her family members and has mehndi applied to her hands by her relatives. During this time they also offer her sweet treats, such as M&Ms, as part of the celebration.

Following the grand celebration the Rukhasti takes place. During this emotional moment the bride and groom bid farewell to their guests and depart the venue, accompanied by their elder family members.
